First, why should stainless steel fasteners in the battery energy storage industry control zinc and copper?

Zinc is a reactive metal and copper is a transition metal, so it is easy to react chemically. In the production process of lithium batteries, the two poles react at the same time, and a typical galvanic cell cannot be formed because there is no obvious potential difference.
Due to the many production processes of positive electrode materials, there may be a risk of introducing metal foreign bodies in the manufacturing process. When the battery formation stage voltage reaches the REDOX potential of these metal elements, these metal impurities are oxidized in the positive electrode and reduced in the negative electrode. Accumulation to a certain extent can puncture the diaphragm and cause the battery to self-discharge, or even explode.
Because the production environment of lithium batteries is very demanding, the performance parameters of fasteners used with them have very strict requirements, such as the content of copper in material parameters should be less than 0.5%-1%.
